During a vehicle stop, the suspect made off on foot in an attempt to evade police. Officers pursued and successfully detained the suspect. The suspect was detained for the purpose of a search under section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act.

During the search and surrounding area check, a quantity of cannabis was located, which the suspect had discarded while attempting to flee. The Substance was recovered and seized as evidence.

Following the search and recovery of the drugs, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply (class B). Further checks established that the suspect was also driving whilst unfit through drugs and driving with no valid insurance, resulting in additional offences.

This incident resulted in the removal of illegal drugs from circulation and contributed to ongoing efforts to address drug-related crime and maintain community safety within the area.
